Before You Hire

Typical turnaround is 1–3 weeks for most collision repairs. Ask:

• Can I get a written estimate with parts and labor listed separately before any work starts?
• What is your hourly labor rate, and is there a diagnostic fee? Is it credited toward the repair?
• Will you call me for approval if the job grows beyond the estimate?
• Are your technicians ASE certified in this kind of repair?
• Are the parts new OEM, aftermarket or rebuilt?

Tips

• In most states you may choose your own shop, even if your insurer recommends another one. Check your policy and state rules.
• Ask for a final invoice showing that the listed parts were installed.
• Modern cars may need camera and sensor recalibration after a collision; ask whether it is in the estimate.
